Covid-19 Christmas 2.0

Covid-19 Christmas 2.0

Yes, 2.0. Why? It was our second Christmas amidst this pandemic!

As compared on Christmas 2020, Christmas 2021 was way better.  Why? In 2020, house to house caroling was not allowed. No Christmas parties allowed. Boarders were still closed. Families from afar didn’t meet. Super limited people were allowed to attend Simbang-gabi.

As to 2021 Christmas, we see people caroling almost every night. A lot of people attended Simbang-gabi. Boarders opened. A lot of people who were apart from their families unite. Christmas get togethers were everywhere. All of these happened because a lot of people have received vaccines against Covid-19.

We all hope and wish that next Christmas, every thing that we used to do before the pandemic will be possible. We hope that we can go to parties without worrying we get infected. We hope that we can visit our families without limits. We hope that this pandemic will end soon.

Christmas celebrations amidst Covid-19 pandemic was never easy in terms of so-called commercialized celebrations. But in its essence, we can celebrate Christmas just by sending help to those in need. Praying and thanking God for giving us a longer chance to live by not getting infected by the virus. Praying and thanking God for all the blessings we received even at the hardest times of our lives. Praying and thanking God that He has protected us from all of the calamities that came.

We can all celebrate Christmas at its essence in our own very ways. It’s just how we see it’s true essence.
