“Vigan City Fiesta Celebration in the New Normal.”

 

               Viva Vigan!! January 25 is the Vigan City Fiesta Celebration. It is where we celebrate the cityhood of Vigan. Before, the celebration occurs for almost two months. We have carnival, city bargain, lots of parades and events. But now, during the pandemic, lot of these events were set aside. This is because we need to abide the health protocols set by the IATF.

        

               The festival gives a lot of opportunities to many people of Vigan to showcase their talents and even gave them opportunities to earn by selling food and other products. The new normal can’t give these opportunities. Though the city government still initiate projects to continuously celebrate this festival, it is not that festive after all. It is because only limited people can attend too these activities.

 

               The new normal isn’t normal at all. Festivals like the Vigan City Fiesta is one of the grandest festivals of Ilocos Sur. It is one of the biggest celebrations we have. But because of the pandemic, Vigan City Fiesta is not a FIESTA!
